No smart remarks….please!
I bought a 32″ HDTV today. I have a cable box that allows me to get HDTV, but I am wondering how do you know when it is in HDTV mode?
I went to a channel that is HDTV and it comes in the entire screen, but I go to another channel that is also HDTV and it goes to a wide screen format.
Do I have to setup anything on the TV so that it will show in HDTV?
Hurry for an answer a baseball game comes on in about 5 hours!
Thanks below…We looked at the manual for the TV and there is this cable (HDMI) that we need to hook up the cable box to the TV. Off hubby went to get a cable. I will check the settings to be sure it is 1080i. I’ll be back in a bot and will prob give you the 10 points! Oh and you said Adelphia…that’s funny, that’s who we used to have TWC bought them out though.

my cable box from adelphia wasnt hdmi ready. i had to run it through the component. check the hd channel, and the reg. channel. the hd should look a lot better. when i switch to a hd channel, the picture gets funny for a second, then comes in very clear. hope this helps u out.
oh, i also had to go into the cable box settings and change it to 1080 dpi. it was set on like 760 or something like that.
if u call the cable company, have them walk u through the component hook up. its easy.
Keep in mind that just because you have the bars on top and bottom (wide screen format) does NOT mean that channel isn’t HD. There are several HD channels that show films as they were intended theatrically which is not 16:9, therefore the bars.
