All apps should do this if the media is indeed in widescreen format. If you’re watching a dvd which is in widescreen format, for example, Windows Media Player, Winamp, PowerDVD…whatever will all play it at widescreen.
Media Player Classic is a good program that has an option to force aspect ratio. Meaning everything will be morphed into widescreen. This program also uses up about half the memory of WMP.
If you’re trying to play vids you’ve downloaded and they’re not playing at widescreen….then they’re probably not widescreen videos. Also make sure the graphics properties on your PC are correctly configured.
